Can anyone reccomend a good shop for 60k in the Burlington MA or Worcester MA area?
Looking for a solid mechanic for a Subaru 60k service (04 WRX) without paying the exorbitant rates from Patrick Motors or other local dealers. I don't have the tools to do this myself unfortunately (or potentially the skills :)) , so that's not an option.
I'd really like someone that is familiar with Subies as I'm having some issues with acceleration that I'm hoping I could address with the mechanic in question (really, really slow from a stop until the turbo spools up around 3k but I don't remember it ever being this bad...to the point that I don't feel comfortable pulling out into traffic some times...maybe it's something the 60k will address..not sure)
Thanks in advance folks :)
I work in Burlington, live in greater Worcester area, so either place is fine if you have any experience!
(tried finding any previous threads, but didn't have much luck...saw the dealer reviews subforum, but that was it)

Scenic/Fun/Motorcycle-Friendly Roads in WMass
I'm looking for some nice roads to ride my motorcycle on this week and next. I'm in Northampton, so it would be nice if it's somewhat close by, but not too important. I wouldn't mind riding up to 3.5 hours, if it's a fun road or there's a great view.
What I'd really like is if there's a scenic area where I can pull over and take a picture of my bike in front of the view.
One nice long route I like is Rte. 116 to Goshen - Rte 112s - Rte 66 back into Northampton. Fun roads in good condition with little traffic. Can't beat that!

Need good auto body shop around Boson area! Thanks!
Hello, I scratched my husband's 2008 subaru forester last night. Three major scratch on right side of the car body including a small distortion on the edge of front door. :sadbanana:
Need suggestions:
1) any good body shop around boston area with reasonable price?
2) I have progressive collision and comprehensive auto insurance package with $500 deduction. Is it better to go through my insurance company or just fix by myself? If I let my insurance company pay for it, how much they would increase my insurance?
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated! thanks!

Cars and Copters - 9/19
Haven't seen this posted here, so:
Quote:
Hello Again Car Enthusiasts!
It has been a while since everyone has heard from us; over the last year we have spent a lot of time looking for a new venue to host the Boston Cars and Coffee events and would like to thank everyone for their continued interest in the event. Please continue to stay tuned to the website as we are hoping to offer everyone a great new location shortly. Having said that, I am very excited to announce the Cars and Copters 2010 event.
With the help of Driven Perfection, The Beantown Sound, Heliops, and Plymouth Municipal Airport management; Yuppieracing.net would like to announce the 2010 Cars and Copters event organized to benefit The Jimmy Fund in honor of Ricky Hoffman. Last year's event was THE automotive event of the year with some 700+ cars coming through all day and close to a dozen helicopters coming in to celebrate with us.
This event is open to all makes and models... last year we had everything from almost all marques represented and cars dating back to Pre War era. In addition to an amazing display of cars, Heliops will once again have its own fleet of helicopters on hand which will be available for short tours around the area by air. Attendees will also be given the opportunity to win prizes via a raffle and a helicopter ball drop. Prizes include car radios, RC drift cars, and full details. Food will once again be provided by Plane Jane's for a nominal fee and extra bathroom facilities will be available as well. For directions to the airport, click here
As always, please remember to be on your best behavior. This is a fully operational airport and still requires us to pay attention to federal regulations as well as many local laws. Please refrain from doing any donuts, burnouts, drifting or racing of any kind. Police will be on site, and we all know theyll be waiting for us on the public roads. Do not give them any reason to stop you.
For those of interested in sponsoring the event, please send an email to myself... Peter@kaizentuning.com.
Lastly, help us spread the word! Invite your family, friends, co-workers, or that random person down the street with the rare car. The more people the better and we certainly have no shortage of space at this location.
Once again, hope to see everyone there,
-Pete More info can be had on the yuppieracing.net website:

As long as the weather is good, I'll be there.

Stock WRX wheels with snow tires
I have Stock wheels for sale off my 04 WRX. They are in great shape with minor curbing on one wheel, the rest are curb-free. They have Dunlop Winter Sport M3's (205/55/16) on them with atleast 1 season left, probably 2 depending on how much you drive and how much fun in the snow you have ;). One tire is getting plugged this weekend and should hold air just fine after that. The tires are great in the snow, I am only selling because I am going with STi Brembo's and am purchasing another set of STi BBS with snows for winter duty. Pics will be up in a few days. Located in Pittsfield, MA but willing to meet in Lee (Exit 2 off the pike for those of you coming from the East).
$350/BO
Possible trades include:
STi TMIC
PSM STi Scoop
Wheel locks
Front Brembos
Rear adapter kit for Brembos
Rear STi Rotors (5x100)
STi Side splitters
Roof rack for wagon? Not sure on this but possible.
Stromung Dual tip (no single tip please) Cat/Axle back

Possible bad body shop?
Ok first off sorry for the long story, but I really need to know if there is anything that can be done about this.
A few months ago my girlfriend was rear ended in a car accident, and she had her car repaired at a local body shop as she lives out of state and goes to school in Mass (we both go to Umass Amherst, Im from boston so I didnt know of any good shops in the area). A few weeks later we are pulled over because her tail lights aren't working, so thinking that it could be the result of the accident we changed the bulbs and fuses, but nothing worked. So we gave up and took the car back to the same shop, and they "fixed" it for free. Not two miles down the road we realize that her turn signals no longer work, and again take the car back. Finally after waiting two days they return the car, and this time everything seems fine. A week later she realizes that both her wipers and her A/C aren't working, and at this point in time she is at home in CT. So I convince her to go to the Toyota dealership so they can figure out what the issue is once and for all, and after a day or so they tell us that her entire wiring harness is ruined and is the cause of the electrical problems. They also stated that the harness was cut and had fused in places either by the shop itself or during the initial accident, then they quote us $5,000 to fix it. Is this something that we should call the insurance to fix, can they even do something about it? Would it be worth it to go after the body shop that did the work? NESIC I need your help!!!!
Oh and BTW my Gf's car is an 02 Toyota Solara

Register my car in ME or leave it in MA?
Trying to decide if it might be worth it to register my car under my dad's address in Maine, even though I live in MA.
Potential reasons:
- no front plate*
- 7 letters for vanity plate (6 in MA)
- darker tint*
- cheaper registration/inspection fees
- cheaper insurance?
- after-market lighting (green LED parking lights)*
- modified exhaust*
* things I (believe) you can't get tickets for out of state.
I'd like to get some input from people more familiar with this. I tried doing a bunch of research on inspection and registration rules in Maine. Most of it seems to be similar to MA, but since I won't be living in the state (and almost never go there), perhaps it would be worth it.
Discuss...
Thanks,
-Ian-
