FS: in NH: SPT Intake and heat shield, asking $140

Used, good condition, pulled off a 2006 Sti. I can deliver to NHMS this weekend.

Description: SPT WRX/STI High Flow Air Intake
[OEM SOA8431000]

The SPT High Flow Air Intake is constructed of 319 diecast aluminum, manufactured to ensure the smoothest high flowing bends. Each system includes a silicone-reinforced boot, anti-vibration mounting system, stainless steel t-bolt clamps, and a SPT 4-layer cotton gauze filter with a built in velocity stack for smooth air flow. The intake is coated in a new gunmetal gray-textured powder-coat finish. Dyno-tested and when combined with the SPT Heat Shield and SPT Performance Exhaust System, produces up to 18HP and 20 lb-ft of torque on a stock 2006 WRX, and 45HP with 24 lb-ft of torque on a stock 2006 STI model. Installation of High Flow air Intake System will result in increased turbocharger and diverter air flow sounds during operation. This condition is indicative of normal operation. Manufactured for Subaru by PIT (Performance Import Trends).

Thanks for lookong!

dealership says my 2006 STI isn't compatible with the clock replacement pods

Thu, 08/26/2010 - 01:59
MY subaru dealership says my 2006 STI isn't compatible with the clock replacement pods I see on earlier models? Are they correct? Or just being a typical dealership? If compatible, would the clock replacement pod fit in better than a pillar pod? What have you all chosen?

Thanks

Thursday Mt Bike Meets in NH

Wed, 08/25/2010 - 13:17
Just wanted to throw this out there.

Every Thursday night a buddy and I get together for a short "fat guy" Mt Bike ride at Bensons park in Hudson NH.

We meet up at 6:00 and ride for about 45 min to an hour then head out. If anyone is interested bring your bike and meet up.

Once we get back in shape we may do longer "skinny guy" rides. But for now its hard just doing this

Stick in clutch

Wed, 08/25/2010 - 06:59
Does a stick in the clutch mean replacement or is there something repairable with it?

If replacement what does it run on a 04 WRX typically around here?

Brake Install Assistance

Tue, 08/24/2010 - 22:40
The rear brakes in the 96 Impreza OBS (disk brakes all around) that my father is driving need to be replaced. I recently moved to Philly and am not around to help him out. He got all the parts, just needs an extra set of hands to help out since he has only done the fronts before never the rears. If anyone is willing to assist within 30 minutes of Dedham send me a PM. He would be glad to pay for your time, just not the $150 that the local dealer wants

Thanks

'02 Wrx

I'm looking at this car tomorrow. The owner said that the bought the car through someone on this forum, but haven't been able to find it on the classifieds. Does anyone know any background on this car? Sounds like the tranny needs replacement or needs some major work, and car needs some body work.

What local (Boston area) dealer has actual Super S transmission fluid?

Tue, 08/24/2010 - 16:28
So far, I'm 0 for 2, both Anchor Subaru and Clay Subaru do not use Super S when doing transmission fluid changes (I couldn't buy it from them, so figured just have them do it, but they didn't have the right fluids). Anyone know a dealer that actually has the Super S stuff?

If not, what's the Motul to use? And anyone around selling it?

New member in NH

Mon, 08/23/2010 - 19:30
What's up guys? After some lurking around on IWSTI, I finally decided to see what NASIOC was. Didn't take long for me to realize that the NE Region on this forum is more active than IWSTI. Anyway, my name is Dara. I'm a pround owner of an 08 Spark Silver STi. Got her a month ago with only 26,300 miles on it and I'm about to hit 30K anytime now. Hope to see some of you around. I'm always on Rte 3 Everett Turnpike and around Merrimack, Amherst, Manchester area.

I'm looking for your help

Sun, 08/22/2010 - 17:20

I was told to check here about the history of this car. My buddy just bought it and I think it was smacked up. Any knowledge of this car? And if so are the lights by your feet aftermarket?
No I don't own a Subaru. Some day maybe. I like them but need a truck.
The car was bought at Patriot in Charlton Mass if that helps. It has a CAI and tint. It may be lowered. If that helps.
Thanks for your help!

P.S. Looking at the pics here, there are some sweet cars here!!!!!!

Hi,
Just putting this out there for one of my friends that live in the Springfield area. His Honda CBR 600 RR was stolen a few days ago at his home. The bike is blue and white, white rims, a couple of Playboy stickers and quite a few other decals placed on it. Please, if you see someone tooling around on this bike that fits this description let me know! Thanks for reading. Just trying to help a friend out.

Subaru Gone - New Hotness Inside!

Thu, 08/19/2010 - 11:20
So I traded the STi last night. The persistent misfire problem was too much for me to deal with.

Old bustedness:

New hotness ('07 335i with performance package)

Apologies for the shaky cell phone cam pics.

I have to say I don't miss the STi one bit. I may when the weather turns nasty but hopefully by then I'll have space to park 3 cars.

What are good forums/resources for this car? Before anyone mentions it, yes I know the fuel pump will (not may) blow at some point, likely multiple times. Aside from that I have already scared myself half to death reading this thread. Fortunately I have another year of maint/warranty. Overall I couldn't be more happy with the car. Every time I drive it I realize I'm smiling by the time I get to my destination. The power comes on so smoothly and it handles like no other. I'm looking forward to getting some non-runflat tires on there.

If you have the means I would highly recommend picking one up. IMO the cost/performance ratio is off the scale. Especially after being chipped/tuned.
